FAQ

General

Who is this conference intended for?

The goal of GodotCon is to provide an opportunity for community members to meet in person, exchange knowledge, form business contacts, and to introduce new people to the Godot project. Therefore it targets no particular skill level nor occupation over another, ideally becoming a melting pot of various user backgrounds. So if you are in any way interested in the Godot Engine, this is the right conference for you!

Can my company become a sponsor?

Yes! If you are interested in sponsoring the event, check out our sponsorship opportunities. You should write to [email protected].

Can I showcase my game? Or submit a talk/workshop proposal

Fill out this form, we would love to hear about your projects and ideas! We cannot accept every submission, but we will email you about our decision either way. This means that while we do set aside tickets for our speakers and exhibitors, you should purchase one if you plan to attend either way.

Will the conference be livestreamed?

No. Talks will be recorded and uploaded to the Godot Engine YouTube channel after the conference, but there will be no live streams during the event.

Is the first day only for workshops?

Yes. The first day of the conference, Monday July 20th, will be dedicated to workshops. You can purchase a ticket that includes access to the workshops, or just attend the conference on Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd. Depending on the demand we might make changes to the schedule and the venue.

Is there any food or drink included?

Yes, there is a light breakfast and lunch included. Water, coffee, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available throughout the day.

What is the next European event?

The next European event will be GodotFest in Munich on November 3rd and 4th.

Are there any social events?

Yes! Social events will be announced alongside the schedule.

Workshops

What should I bring to a workshop?

Workshops are a hands-on lesson. You will need to provide your own laptop and power cable. (And your ticket.)

Does my Speaker/Showcase/Standard/Earlybird Ticket entitle me to attend workshops?

No. Workshops are an add-on that can be purchased at check out. There is a much smaller quantity due to the hands-on nature and thus are not included in any special ticket types unless explicitly purchased.

What workshops will there be?

Workshops will be fully announced alongside talks in early June. Check out last year's workshops via Youtube for an idea of what might be offered this year. (Though we can't control what folks submit!)

Tickets

I submitted a proposal. Should I buy a ticket?

Yes! Please grab a ticket and reserve your space now. Speakers will be finalized in June and we can process refunds if necessary, but we can't increase venue capacity.

The shop says you are sold out

If you haven’t managed to secure a ticket, you can add yourself to the waiting list, to have a chance to claim a ticket reserved for you whenever any free up.

What types of tickets are there?

In addition to the Standard Ticket which grants you access to the 2-day conference on July 21st-July 22nd. There is also a Reduced Ticket for students or disability pass holders (proof required in-person.) There is also a Workshop add-on which grants access to attend hands-on workshops the day before the conference (Monday 20th). This is presented at checkout.

Can I upgrade my ticket after purchase?

Yes! Send us an email to [email protected] with your name and wish. Make sure to use the same mail address you bought the tickets with, so we can verify your identity!

What is your cancellation policy?

You can fully refund your ticket until one month before the conference, so until the 20th of June. Afterwards you can still cancel your ticket and free it up for the next person on the waitlist, but will not receive a refund.

Do I need to use my legal name? What will be shown on the badges?

Yes. You will need a government issued ID to get into the venue (as per THEIR rules), so the name on your ticket should match the name on your ID. For the badges themselves, you will be able to display a nickname or company name if you prefer.
